Kids Day 2008
20 April 2008
Imperial troops were recently called to downtown Anchorage for the annual "Kids Day" on April 19th, 2008. Troopers patrolled the very large crowd and insured that order was kept by having an imperial presence at the event. Troopers were fortunate enough to have made contact with representatives for the state of Alaska from the US Senate (Senator Ted Stevens) and US Congress (Congressman Don Young) to assure that the Empires plan for this section of earth was proceding as planned.
More pictures of this event can be found in the Photo Album tab.

The Alaska Outpost and the whole 501st legion would like to welcome Ryan Michele a.k.a. TC 3551 to the ranks of the imperial army. This latest addition to Vaders Fist has been hanging around the hanger bay for some time now and has been inducted into the ranks as a Clone Trooper as seen in Episode III : Revenge of the Sith.

Weclome aboard Trooper.
Fur Rondy Parade Update
14 February 2008
The Aurora Borealis Outpost is #28 in the parade. We're just behind the antique military vehicles of the Alaska Territorial Cavalry Motorized and just ahead of the Clown Kazoo Band. (Hmmm.)
Our staging area is in the middle of 8th Avenue between D and E streets. Organizers say, the area is smaller than last year and they sent me only one vehicle access pass I probably could copy it, if anyone needs to get their car in. Access entrance for our vehicle(s) is through 7th and D. Most of you will probably have to park close by and dress in your car, or bring your gear to my Bronco and dress there. It does have limited room for storage, though.
It starts at 10:30, Saturday, the 23rd. I'll by there around 9 or so. Temperatures are forecast for the upper 20's or so. Dress appropriately under your uniforms, remember safety is a priority. Bring the appropriate footgear, spiked slip-ons or something, if it is icy.
I hope as many Troopers as possible can show up and make a real showy presentation. Questions? Get ahold of me ASAP. PM me for phone numbers. (Any contributions for the parade fee are welcome!)

Members of the Alaskan Outpost of the 501st legion visited the radio morning show of Woody & Wilcox on 100.5 THE FOX here in Anchorage. After hearing how big a fan Woody is of Star Wars, members of the outpost decided to pay a little visit to this morning show and let the guys get a close up view of Darth Vader and Boba Fett. We had a blast and answered alot of questions about our suits and what the 501st does. The guys on the show were kind enough to provide us with a recording of the show and a link will be up here shortly for those of you who missed out the first time around.
Pictures of us at the studio should be available here shortly.
